Palau de Casavells opens the Summer Season with the painter Manolo Sierra and the photographer Andrea Torres Balaguer
The two individual exhibitions will be inaugurated on Saturday, June 22, at 6 pm and will remain open for one month at the usual time of the gallery. Apart from the two exhibitions, the gallery has more than 1500m2 dedicated to contemporary art, antiquities and sXX design.
Manolo Sierra presents the work carried out during the last year, under the title of FOG. There are 15 paintings painted in oil on table. “Two years ago,” says Sierra, “I built a greenhouse of plastic in the center of the studio. Inside, I worked the coldest months. This situation of isolation and light, has influenced my work at a technical and conceptual level. The plastic has been the frame or background where I have located objects and people. I have observed through its limited transparency the saturated light, the blurred profiles ”
This is the second time that Manolo Sierra has an individual show at Palau de Casavells. The last time was in 2105 with Limits exhibition.
Andrea Torres Balaguer is the youngest photographer in Miquel Alzueta’s gallery and his international success is becoming more relevant every day. This exhibition shows 8 photographs of the artist, which are part of the series The unknown, where Andrea Torres takes part on photography with a brushstroke of color paint. Torres, despite his youth, – only twenty-nine years old – has been able to find his place in the world of contemporary art.
